Social media is not any more the ‘NEW IN THING’, till some time back when our parents were scolding us for being hooked to our phones/ tablets or computers hardly did I know that generation X, Y & Z will also get wooed by them. Time has finally come when I see my Granny, my mother and myself pouting together in front of a camera, taking a selfie, where I would hardly imagine that my grandmother would be sharing tips for great photos with my mother. Well that’s the new subject of conversation on WhatsApp and not ‘Kaam Wali Bai’.
There is a well-known as a quotation from Andy Warhol.” 15 minutes of fame”. It was actually derived derive from a line which was somewhat different – ” In future everybody will be world famous for fifteen minutes.” which he quoted in 1968.
Who would have thought, social media will actually turn his statement even to smaller duration.
Thanks to social media which gave us Dancing Uncle and gave him “6 minutes of fame” and a status of pseudo-celebrity – A reason good enough for photography & videography to become one of the most popular professions in the recent times. The love of Social Media Likes & Follows will witness many such professions in coming days
Having a cup of coffee in your hand and viewing alluring HD images on your cell phone, wondering these guys sure have a perfect DSLR to click these pictures. But my dear friends, it is not possible for every user to purchase a DSLR camera, especially for those who have just started their career as bloggers or instagrammers.
Have you ever tried editing your pictures? C’mon, I know that you have, even everybody uses the editing tool to make their pictures look more glamorous. Editing is an art to make things more attractive, adding more aesthetics for viewers. Today in this post we are going to discuss some of these smart tools which are really a great platform to edit your pictures. These smart apps offer many facilities such as managing interface, importing pictures from gallery, editing these pictures and offers an option of sharing pictures to friends and they are so handy, that you need just couple of minutes to edit a pic.
Today, I am sharing some of the best photo editing tools which I like most due to their unique and advanced features and ease of use.
1. Google Snapseed
Snapseed is an image editing software which is now owned by Google and it is available for free for iOS and Android users to enhance their photos and apply digital filters. Being part of Google family, high expectations were set for Snapseed in beginning itself but yes it fullfills this with powerful editing filters which some seems as better than “Instagram”.
Snapseed 2.0 comes with new features which are really exciting and its simplicity and multitasking features are able to win anybody’s heart.
Here, I am listing certain pros and cons of Snapseed 2.0
- Snapseed 2.0 has added the feature of stretching photo to enlarge, this option was not available in its previous version.
- A new update has added a spot removal option which is able to remove spots from your images.
- It is more easy to use “before” and “after” option now.
- Perspective control feature of snapseed is really cool.
The best part about this new update is that it still has swipe up/down and left/right options for many adjustments. The new update hasn’t made any changes in adjusting frame feature, which is really great.
- Grunge feature is missing in this new update.
- The Vintage feature has changed, however, it is working fine.
- There are no instructions of using the app, a help option is provided here. But, you can only use this online.
- The new update seems a little complicated and interface is more simple and excellent.
Another app I really enjoy is Afterlight, This alsohas a wide range of filters, textures and frames. It has a complete package of image adjustment tools and is very suitable to perform basic exposure and colour adjustments. Afterlight provides a great set of tools and by combining multiple effects, you can create your own unique look.
This app has a really cool interface and it is available on play store at a price of $0.99. It also offers unique and appealing iPhone photo edit options
A. Localised in 15 Languages
The best thing about this app is that you can use it in many languages. It can support 15 different languages which are English, Chinese, French, German, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Brazilian, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Swedish, Thai and Turkish.
So, you need not get worried about the languages as it fully supports the top 15 most spoken languages all over the world.
B. Very Fine Zoom Feature
Through Afterlight, you can zoom the image while editing. This is really a very cool feature which allows users to see every fine detail of their image without leaving the editing page thus you can make more precise and fine edits.
C. Design own Filters
If one is not happy with the filter designs available in the app, then they can create their own style filter by using fusions. This adds a unique and consistent style to your image and you can enjoy many fusions to create a fine art.
D. Frame Feature
If you want to add an extra style to your social presence, then Afterlight app allows you to create a frame of any colour and it also allows to add any background image you like.
Visual Supply Company (VSCO), is one of the most popular photo editing apps on the market which is available on both iOS and Android platforms. VSCO has a beautifully designed interface and beautiful contemporary look which makes it worth to try.
VSCO has inbuilt camera feature on its homepage which gives many interesting benefits to its customers, such as:
- Grid Overlay Options
- White Balance
- Face Recognition Tool
- ISO settings
- Manual shutter speed control
- Flash settings
- Manual shutter
In the recent update of VSCO, a new feature called “virtual toggle” is added and believe me, it is pretty cool. Just by swiping it to the left, you come to your profile section and it launches its camera by swiping up and brings you to the recent updates from your connections by swiping right.
The new update of VSCO is more focused on giving equal priority to its content creation and content discovery tools. VSCO has ameliorated its speed and performance and has updated some of its iconographies.
Grid is the VSCO’s own in-app social network which allows you to share your edited image to its network. You can also share your pics on other social network platforms such as Twitter, Facebook etc.
4. Photo Mate R3
Photo Mate R3 is the most comprehensive editing app for android platforms which has recently got its new update. This update provides all-new rendering engines for both Raw and JPEG editing. Some improvements have been made to all the important adjustments such as contrast, shadows, exposure etc.
Photo Mate R3 3.2 is the free version of its raw editing app and it supports the most of the features of its pro version. Its free version supports decoding, cropping, exporting, stacking. Even, it also supports editing of raw files.
The free version of this app also supports luminance and sharpening feature, layer editing, custom export presets, custom watermarks and viewing geo-tagged images on the map.
So, if you are happy with an ad, I recommend you to not buy its pro version despite its many benefits.
Now never doubt your calibre and never hesitate to be a social fond person with these amazing apps on your cell phone.
So, stop waiting , you need to take a start and check any of these recommended apps and be its expert. Soon I ll come up with more knowledge about the same.
